A few days ago, as I sat in meditation and simply observed the natural movement of my breath, a large butterfly appeared in my third eye. Bright blue and velvety black, it was still and at rest. As though perched on a flower, only its wings gently undulating with just a whisper of movement, matched with it’s breath, which was synced with my breath.
I very clearly felt the message of the pause, the wait, the in-between breath.
Normally when the symbolism of butterfly is called forth it speaks of the transformation of the pupae into winged majesty. But this was no pupae in the chrysallis. This butterfly had already emerged, transformed, explored the world... and was now taking a breath, a pause, before it takes to flight once more.
As we approach Pluto’s move from Capricorn into Aquarius on 20 January, we as a collective are in the in-between breath.
The much-heralded dawning of the Age of Aquarius is further compounded by the energy of Pluto in Aquarius - Pluto being the planet of evolution. This transit has us in a moment of suspense, with many feeling the uncertainty and angst of massive change (and accompanying turmoil) on the horizon.
The current energy is ripe for clarity to emerge - seemingly out of the blue - in areas you may have felt confusion and murkiness. All that is required is for you to rest in the pause: observe, attune to the inner ear, and soon things will crystallise.
Pluto, the planet of destruction (think the necessary death/rebirth of Kali or of Mother Earth) has been in Capricorn since 2008. Over the past year it has transited in and out of Aquarius, the Water Bearer. After one more retrograde back into Capricorn (a sign associated with traditional values) in November this year, Pluto will remain in Aquarius until 2044.
Aquarius is the rebel and change-maker. The revolutionary. Discarding old ways in favour of creating a new way of being that serves not just the one, but the collective. Aquarius thinks out of the box, doesn’t concern itself with what the crowds are doing, and forges forth into a bright new future.
Pluto in Aquarius is the cosmic heralding of a new age. There will be a call to seek liberation through radically different ways, and the next 20 years will spark the evolution of humanity into the golden waters of the Aquarian Age.
